Overview

The Athletic Trainer at Skaggs Community Hospital is responsible for providing athletic training services to student athletes, ensuring compliance with the Missouri State Athletic Training Practice Act. This role involves assessing athletes for sports-related injuries, making decisions regarding referrals, and maintaining sports programs at the fitness center.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training services to student athletes
  • Assess athletes for a wide range of sports-related injuries
  • Make decisions regarding referral or further assessment
  • Coverage of Athletic Training contracted schools during practices and games
  • Establish and maintain sports-related programs at the fitness center
  • Order equipment and supplies
  • Keep records on athletes

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field
  • Missouri Athletic Training License in good standing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field
  • Preferred: Previous athletic training experience
