Overview

The Athletic Trainer Clinic at Intermountain Health in Riverton, Utah, focuses on evaluating and treating musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries under the guidance of a Sports Medicine Physician. This role includes developing rehabilitation programs, educating patients, and coordinating care among providers.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries
  • Assess patients to determine therapy modifications in consultation with physicians
  • Develop rehabilitation programs addressing patient's goals
  • Demonstrate and help patients execute therapeutic exercises
  • Monitor patient's response to treatment
  • Educate patients on health needs, injuries, and rehabilitation programs
  • Coordinate patient care with other providers
  • Complete documentation including reports and intake forms
  • Maintain and inspect medical equipment
  • Engage in marketing and community educational programs
  • Assist with various medical procedures such as casting, splinting, and wound care

Required skills

  • Current license as an Athletic Trainer in state of practice
  • National athletic trainer certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with computer programs for data management
  • Strong communication skills
