Job Description

Overview

The Athletic Trainer (ATC) in Orthopedics at Carle Health is responsible for assessing, evaluating, and treating patients in a clinical setting. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary orthopedic team, with a focus on providing high-quality clinical care and patient education.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate patients' physical conditions and develop treatment plans
  • Document evaluations and plans of care according to departmental policies
  • Provide emergency care, including CPR, when necessary
  • Evaluate and revise plans of care based on patient progress
  • Instruct patients and families on treatment and self-management
  • Collaborate with administrative and coding teams to ensure proper documentation
  • Deliver athletic training services to schools and events as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in Illinois
  • Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of injury assessment, rehabilitation, and clinical care
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
