Overview

Boos & Associates is seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to join their expanding team in Long Beach, California. The role centers around overseeing assurance engagements, ensuring high standards of client satisfaction, and managing a team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting and a passion for leading and developing others.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, execution, and completion of assurance engagements
  • Supervise, direct, and review audit client engagement processes
  • Ensure engagement profitability including billings and collections
  • Advise clients on economic and regulatory risks and resolve complex accounting issues
  • Document and validate financial reporting control systems
  • Mentor and develop staff, providing training and performance feedback
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication
  • Monitor compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to business growth by identifying new opportunities and participating in networking events

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • MBA or Master's degree in Accountancy preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting
  • Significant supervisory experience
  • Extensive experience in external auditing, preferably in Big 4 or national accounting firms
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and prioritize tasks
  • Business acumen and strategic mindset for business development
  • Active licensed US CPA or recognized international equivalent
  • Experience with various assurance applications and Microsoft Office products
