Job Description

Overview

The Associate Scientist in Quality Control at Olon USA LLC is responsible for performing complex chemical analyses on various samples in compliance with cGMP/GLP standard operating procedures. This role requires coordination of raw material testing and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards while supporting client projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform HPLC, GC, FTIR, DSC, TGA, NMR, and other chemical analyses
  • Inspect and analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods
  • Coordinate raw material testing in a materials management system
  • Conduct inspections of manufacturing supplies and laboratory procedures
  • Dispose of expired retained samples and chemicals safely
  • Generate compliant data to support client projects
  • Review data for technical content and maintain good record-keeping practices

Required skills

  • B.S. in chemistry or M.S. with relevant laboratory experience
  • 3+ years of experience for B.S. or 1+ year for M.S. in pharmaceutical analytical laboratory
  • Experience with HPLC and GC
  • Familiarity with FTIR, TGA, DSC, NMR
  • Knowledge of XRD, IC, ICP-MS, and ICP-OES is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Basic chemical knowledge and safe material handling
  • Effective communication skills with manufacturing and quality personnel
  • Ability to multitask
