Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer in Waterdown, Ontario, to focus on quality and reliability within the service ATLAS team. The role involves proactive troubleshooting, documentation maintenance, and support for continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing processes, contributing to national security technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as primary Service Manufacturing Engineering contact for the ATLAS team
  • Resolve mechanical and electro-optical manufacturing issues using root-cause analysis
  • Create and maintain documentation for manufacturing changes and processes
  • Participate in daily standup and MRB meetings, supporting NCR closure and non-conformance disposition
  • Support engineering for NPI projects and process development for WESCAM products
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools
  • Support business priorities as required by Operations Engineering leadership

Required skills

  • Manufacturing Engineering experience in a high-tech assembly environment
  • Knowledge of Systems, Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing, and Process Engineering
  • Technical communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve manufacturing issues in real-time
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • AS9100 knowledge (asset)
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Composer, and AutoCAD (asset)
  • Green Belt Certification or equivalent industry experience (asset)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (asset)
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation (asset)
  • University degree or 3-year college diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
