Overview

Orion Placement is looking for an Associate Litigation Attorney to join their respected litigation firm in Valdosta, Georgia. The role involves managing all phases of civil litigation and insurance defense matters while collaborating with experienced partners to develop real litigation skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of pre-litigation and litigation from case evaluation through resolution
  • Represent clients in civil litigation and insurance defense matters
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and case strategy materials
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical analysis to clients and insurers
  • Handle hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations
  • Maintain communication with clients providing updates and strategic guidance
  • Collaborate with partners and team members to move cases forward efficiently
  • Track time, expenses, deadlines, and administrative responsibilities related to litigation

Required skills

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active Georgia Bar membership or ability to obtain Georgia admission promptly
  • 3+ years of litigation experience
  • Experience in insurance defense, personal injury defense, premises liability, or automobile liability preferred
  • Strong legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and case management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
  • Professional communication skills with clients, insurers, courts, and colleagues
  • Team-oriented and motivated to grow within a respected litigation practice
