Job Description

Overview

As an Associate II in Asset Protection for Staples, you will play a critical role in ensuring workplace security and safety across multiple facilities. This position involves monitoring various security systems, conducting audits, and responding to incidents, all while working a second shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Key responsibilities

  • Keep the Asset Protection Manager informed of potential workplace security and safety issues.
  • Maintain order and control of the front desk and lobby areas.
  • Prevent internal theft through scanning and bag checks of employees and visitors.
  • Monitor entrance and lobby to verify authorization and escort visitors.
  • Monitor the property via CCTV, fire, and burglar alarm systems.
  • Audit physical security platforms across multiple buildings.
  • Analyze data and conduct video audits relating to Shrink and Cargo Loss.
  • Monitor parking lot for unauthorized visitors or vehicles.
  • Notify emergency personnel during emergencies as appropriate.
  • Assist leadership with safety and emergency drills.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory measures for associates and vendors.
  • Manage safety training and compliance training documents.
  • Administer new hire safety training and annual refresher training.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound trailer activity.

Required skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • General computer skills.
  • Experience in asset protection and physical security processes.
  • Knowledge of access control and CCTV systems.
  • Experience handling workplace violence and safety incidents.
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations or loss prevention.
