Job Description

Overview

The Associate II Asset Protection role at Staples involves ensuring the security and safety of the workplace while operating in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include monitoring facilities through CCTV and managing safety training and compliance, working closely with the leadership team to respond to incidents and prevent theft.

Key responsibilities

  • Keep the Asset Protection Manager informed of potential workplace security and safety issues
  • Maintain order and control of the front desk and lobby areas
  • Prevent internal theft by conducting scanning and bag checks
  • Monitor entrance and lobby to ensure authorized visitor access
  • Audit physical security platforms across multiple buildings
  • Analyze data related to Shrink & Cargo Loss to mitigate risk
  • Monitor parking lots for unauthorized activity
  • Notify emergency personnel during emergencies
  • Assist leadership with safety and evacuation drills
  • Manage safety training and compliance documents
  • Administer new hire and annual refresher safety training
  • Monitor trailer activity in the yard

Required skills

  • Asset Protection background
  • Understanding of physical security processes, access control, and CCTV systems
  • Experience handling workplace violence and safety incidents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 2+ years of related experience in warehouse operations or loss prevention
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Competent general personal computing skills
