Overview

The Associate II Asset Protection role at Staples, Inc. is focused on maintaining security and safety within the workplace. This full-time position operates during the 2nd shift and involves monitoring entrances, conducting audits, and managing safety training to prevent theft and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Keep the Asset Protection Manager informed of workplace security and safety issues
  • Maintain control of front desk and lobby areas
  • Prevent internal theft through scanning and bag checks
  • Ensure authorization of all visitors and monitor the property via CCTV
  • Audit physical security systems and analyze data related to Shrink & Cargo Loss
  • Report unauthorized activity in parking lots and notify emergency personnel as needed
  • Support leadership during safety drills and real events
  • Manage safety training and compliance documentation
  • Monitor inbound and outbound trailer activity

Required skills

  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations or loss prevention/asset protection
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of physical security processes, access control, and CCTV systems
  • Experience handling workplace violence incidents and emergencies
  • General personal computing skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
