Overview

Job Description Shift 1st Shift Description Provide product development from concept to commercialization. Assist in planning and execution of product concept demonstrations for existing and potential new customers. Actively participate in the design and physical production of bench samples that accurately mimic production line capabilities. Assist in continuous cost reduction of existing products while protecting or enhancing the organoleptic quality of products. Utilize statistics to define physical parameters of developed products. Accurate data entry and file maintenance. Physical assistance in production line tests, commercialization of new products, and continuous improvement efforts on the production floor. Other relevant duties and projects as assigned. Requirements Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Meat Science or other related fields of study required; Master of Science preferred. Theoretical knowledge of further processing equipment and packaging Bi-lingual language skills preferred Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point Strong analytical and organizational skills Basic knowledge of statistics Willingness to work early morning and evening hours and weekends when necessary, and travel (approximately 30%) Good communication skills, with ability to work with all levels of management Physical Requirements Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment. Frequently sit for long periods. Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines. May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments. Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
