Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes Materials & Processes (BCA M&P) is seeking an Associate Finishes & Corrosion Protection Engineer (Level 2) to join our 787 Wing & Empennage Engineering Support Team in North Charleston, South Carolina.At Boeing South Carolina, we are shaping the future of aerospace. This is your opportunity to be a part of a high-impact Engineering Support team that enables our 787 Airplane Program.Position Responsibilities:Assist with defining engineering requirements; select or recommend parts, materials, processes, manufacturing technologies, tools, and automation systems to support product design and manufacturing in accordance with contractual and regulatory obligationsPlan and execute qualification activities for new materials, parts, processes, and suppliers, including test programs and auditsPerform routine failure and performance analyses of tools, materials, parts, or processes to identify root causes and recommend corrective or preventive actionsSupport management of test programs, supplier qualifications, and related documentation to ensure compliance with program requirementsApply project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule objectives for assigned tasks and projectsIntegrate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into materials/process design, research and qualification, procedures, and laboratory/office operationsCollaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and other engineering teams to support product development and production readinessMaintain technical records, specifications, and reports to support audits, certifications, and continuous improvement effortsPossess and encourage others to have a mindset of Safety and First Pass QualityInfluence others to exhibit Boeing Values and BehaviorsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in North Charleston, South Carolina.This position may require up to 20% travel, domestically or internationally.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry2+ years of experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing environmentExperience interpreting engineering drawings and specificationsExperience with chemical technology or a material focus area: paints, coating, finishes, and/or sealantsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience in a materials and processes engineering environmentExperience with aerospace inorganic finishes, including surface treatments and platingExperience with aerospace organic finishes, including paints, coatings, and sealantsExperience with aerospace chemical coating applicationExperience with coating and finishes material qualificationExperience working with suppliers associated with an engineering production systemProblem solving, communication, and teamwork skillsConflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Shift:This position is for 1st shift.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies .
