Heard & Smith, LLP is seeking an Associate Disability Attorney to join their dedicated legal team in San Antonio, Texas, focused on helping clients achieve justice in their disability claims. This role involves legal representation at Social Security hearings and requires a service-minded individual who is passionate about making a difference in clients' lives.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to clients regarding disability claims
  • Prepare and represent clients at disability hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges
  • Conduct legal writing at the ALJ and Appeals Council levels
  • Communicate with clients via telephone, mail, and email throughout the disability process
  • Travel to hearings in various cities and states as needed

Required skills

  • Attorney License
  • 1-3+ years of experience in Social Security Disability law
  • Conducted at least 200 Social Security hearings
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Fast internet connection and a suitable home office setup for remote work
