Job Description

Overview

The Associate Director in the Corporate Finance Group at BMO Financial plays a key role in supporting the growth and risk management of large commercial loan portfolios. This position requires advanced financial and credit analysis skills, as well as strong relationship management abilities, to contribute to client decision-making, credit structuring, and business development efforts.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze credit information to support lending decisions for commercial banking loans
  • Make credit decisions and recommendations in compliance with bank policies
  • Negotiate loan structures and terms that align with client needs and bank risk appetite
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify deteriorating credit conditions
  • Lead proposal development and deliver presentations to capture new business
  • Build and maintain client relationships to ensure long-term financial performance
  • Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments for assigned clients
  • Support initiatives to enhance service quality and expand client relationships
  • Manage data entry into BMO's systems and leverage data for decision-making

Required skills

  • 5-7 years of experience in credit or lending instruments
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and problem-solving
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and credit risk assessment
  • Expertise in loan structuring and portfolio management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
