Orion Placement is seeking an Associate Attorney specializing in government contracts to join their boutique litigation firm in Washington, DC. This role involves engaging in high-stakes litigation related to bid protests, regulatory compliance, and the False Claims Act, with direct client interaction from the onset. Key responsibilities

  • Litigate bid protests, claims and performance disputes, and terminations for default before federal agencies and courts
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance, procurement integrity, and ethics issues
  • Handle False Claims Act matters with a strategic focus
  • Draft and review briefs, pleadings, motions, and client correspondence
  • Manage multiple complex matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys while maintaining autonomy on assigned work
  • Engage directly with clients to build trust-based relationships
  • Participate in other practice group matters as needed

Required skills

  • 3+ years of litigation experience focusing on government contracts
  • Admitted to practice in DC, Virginia, Maryland, or California
  • Experience with bid protests, claims disputes, and compliance counseling
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong drafting capabilities
  • Solid analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Self-starter mentality with attention to detail
