Overview

Levin & Nalbandyan LLP is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of employment litigation experience to join their team in Long Beach, California. This role is focused on managing a caseload of employment law matters while working collaboratively within a modern and inclusive law firm that emphasizes client advocacy and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of employment law matters from intake through resolution
  • Conduct legal research and draft complaints, discovery, motions, and legal briefs
  • Take and defend depositions, attend hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Advise clients on their legal rights, risks, and potential outcomes
  • Participate in strategy development with partners and team members
  • Represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings
  • Second or third-chair jury trial and arbitrations

Required skills

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar
  • 1-3 years of employment law litigation experience, preferably on the plaintiff side
  • Proficiency in managing wrongful termination and sexual harassment litigation
  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws and civil procedure
  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
  • Effective oral advocacy and client communication abilities
  • Experience conducting and responding to discovery, taking depositions, and preparing for trial
  • Strong organizational and case management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
