Overview

Brown & Crouppen Law Firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join their Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation and Pre-Litigation Practice in St. Louis, Missouri. This position is ideal for attorneys early in their career to gain hands-on litigation experience and exposure to pre-litigation case development while working closely with seasoned attorneys in a high-energy, client-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and evaluate case viability
  • Work with case managers and investigators to gather evidence
  • Engage in client consultations and maintain case progress updates
  • Draft demand letters and negotiate with insurance companies
  • Collaborate with attorneys and medical experts for injury assessments
  • Take and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, and experts
  • Draft discovery requests, pleadings, and motions
  • Argue motions in court and manage motion practice
  • Monitor case progress and develop litigation strategies
  • Prepare for and participate in jury trials
  • Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel
  • Attend court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences

Required skills

  • 1-3 years' experience handling personal injury cases
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active license
  • Bar licensure in both Illinois and Missouri
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Courtroom motion practice experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
