Overview

Brown & Crouppen Law Firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join their Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation and Pre-Litigation Practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career attorneys to develop hands-on litigation experience while gaining exposure to pre-litigation case development, working alongside seasoned attorneys in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and case evaluations to determine claim viability
  • Work with case managers and investigators to gather evidence
  • Engage in client consultations and keep clients informed
  • Draft demand letters and negotiate settlements
  • Collaborate with attorneys and medical experts
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Draft discovery requests, pleadings, and motions
  • Argue motions in court and handle motion practice
  • Monitor case progress and develop litigation strategies
  • Prepare for and participate in jury trials
  • Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel
  • Attend court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences

Required skills

  • 1-3 years' experience handling personal injury cases
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active license in good standing
  • Bar licensure in both Illinois and Missouri
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience with courtroom motion practice
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet court deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
