Job Description Job Description Bressler, Amery & Ross, a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national practice, seeks a Senior Associate/Counsel for its' Florham Park, NJ office. The Senior Associate/Counsel is responsible for assisting and/or managing a caseload, subject to Principal supervision, and will assist in the representation of clients in litigation, alternate dispute resolution and drafting and negotiation of agreements. Matters will include sophisticated family law matters as well as general commercial litigation.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other similar proceedings.Work closely with Principals to develop and revise appropriate legal strategy.Negotiating and drafting premarital and marital and commercial settlement agreements.Provide guidance to clients on legal opinions, rights, and obligations.Remain current with changes in the law; understand a variety of disciplines involved with cases being defended.Outstanding research, writing and analytical skills are critical.Perform administrative functions related to the practice of law.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.Admission to the NJ Bar; co-admission to the NY Bar is required.A minimum of 5 years' litigation attorney experience.Knowledge of business law and family law and specific understanding of the operations and requirements of clients. Experience and ability appropriate to the level of cases being handled.Member in good standing of the state bar(s).Knowledge of state law is essential.Superb creativity, perseverance, cognitive and reasoning abilities.Strong analytical skills used for complex legal issues.Required ExperienceMust be able to concisely and accurately communicate, both orally and in writing.Proficient in conducting legal research.Excellent interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently.Maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with others, including peers and Principals of the firm.Salary: $165,000 - $195,000The salary range does not guarantee, obligate, nor set expectations of an applicant's salary in the event of hire. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's years of experience, qualifications and skill set.
