Job Description

Overview

Sewickley Academy is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Varsity/Head Junior Varsity Golf Coach to develop their boys' golf program. This part-time role involves fostering student-athlete growth and promoting sportsmanship while helping players enhance their golf skills and competitive performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct practices to develop fundamental golf skills, course management, and sportsmanship
  • Teach and reinforce golf rules and etiquette
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, and team activities
  • Manage team communication
  • Promote a positive and inclusive team culture
  • Transport student-athletes using school vans
  • Collaborate with the Head Varsity Golf Coach and Athletic Director to support program goals
  • Ensure compliance with school, league, and state athletic association policies
  • Maintain a safe environment for all participants

Required skills

  • Previous golf, coaching, or instructional experience
  • Knowledge of golf rules, techniques, and player development
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes positively
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and PIAA Coaching Certifications
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
