Overview

Thompson Tire & Service is looking for an Assistant Manager for their Dubuque location. This role is critical for supporting the Location Manager in achieving operational goals, ensuring staff training, and maintaining a welcoming culture focused on respect and integrity.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Location Manager in achieving store goals
  • Audit completed service tickets for accuracy and documentation
  • Prepare regular reports on sales, product trends, and metrics
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable and ensure compliant collections
  • Inspect company vehicles and shop for safety issues
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of new employees
  • Establish a trusting relationship with customers
  • Communicate effectively with staff and customers
  • Maintain current product knowledge on tires and services
  • Adhere to company policies and legal regulations

Required skills

  • 2-4 years of management experience in automotive or tire store
  • Customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer applications
  • Knowledge of tire store operations and products
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
