Overview

The Connecticut Institute for Communities Inc. is seeking full-time Preschool Assistant Teachers for its Norwalk Early Learning Programs. The role involves assisting in the planning and implementation of activities for preschool children aged 3-5, focusing on several core functions of the Head Start program.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in classroom planning and implementation
  • Support program implementation for preschool children
  • Engage in family partnership building
  • Coordinate communication and services
  • Maintain record keeping of activities and progress
  • Participate in ongoing monitoring and self-assessment

Required skills

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate
  • 12 Early Childhood Education credits
  • Head Start or Preschool experience preferred
  • Basic computer literacy in email and word processing
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs
  • CPR and First Aid certification
