Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group is seeking a self-motivated full-time Assistant Service Technician for its Water & Wastewater Services Division. The chosen candidate will assist lead technicians in servicing, repairing, and installing water and wastewater equipment and systems, primarily around the Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia area.

Key responsibilities

  • Support lead technicians in water/wastewater mechanical equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues on pumps, motors, blowers, and related equipment.
  • Perform laser shaft alignment and vibration testing.
  • Assist with minor welding or fabrication as necessary.
  • Stage tools, rigging, and materials; set up and break down job sites.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and confined-space safety protocols.
  • Complete service reports and daily logs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency response.

Required skills

  • 2+ years as a technician in general construction or industrial maintenance with a mechanical focus.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Valid driver's license.
