Job Description

Overview

The Assistant Principal at Soleil Academy is responsible for leading academic and student support initiatives while ensuring a structured learning environment for scholars in transitional kindergarten through 5th grade. This role involves direct oversight of instructional strategies, teacher evaluations, and academic standards to drive student achievement and well-being.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead administrator at one of the school's sites
  • Observe teachers regularly and provide feedback
  • Model and support standards-aligned instructional strategies
  • Conduct professional development aligned with instructional priorities
  • Oversee administration of school-wide assessments
  • Engage staff in data analysis and planning
  • Coordinate development of differentiated lesson plans
  • Attend IEP meetings as LEA Representative
  • Support hiring and onboarding of school staff
  • Participate in school-related family events
  • Lead planning and goal setting for grades/departments
  • Support the growth and development of staff members
  • Monitor instructional quality and data-driven practices
  • Own a designated content area to set instructional vision
  • Lead instructional coaching and provide actionable feedback

Required skills

  • Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
  • English Learner Authorization (CLAD or equivalent)
  • DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance
  • Tuberculosis (TB) clearance
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Exemplary instructional and classroom management skills
  • Experience analyzing data for instructional decisions
  • Minimum three years in urban education
  • Strong commitment to data-driven instruction
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Minimum one year of teaching experience in an urban setting
