Job Description

Overview

Lycoming College is seeking a part-time Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for its NCAA Division III program. The role involves overseeing various aspects of the basketball program while ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations and promoting a positive athletic environment. This position works from July through February with an annual total of approximately 950 hours.

Key responsibilities

  • Model integrity, respect, and good sportsmanship
  • Communicate regularly with the Head Coach
  • Promote the Men's Basketball program and Lycoming College
  • Abide by NCAA DIII regulations and Landmark Conference rules
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Assist in organizing community service events and practices
  • Prepare student-athletes for games through instruction
  • Recruit student-athletes who meet admissions requirements
  • Monitor the academic success of student-athletes

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Collegiate playing and coaching experience preferred
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with video breakdown and analytics
  • Driver's license with an approved driving record
  • Successful completion of ACT 153 Clearances
