Overview

As an Assistant General Manager at Panera Bread, you will play a crucial role in leading a team within a beloved neighborhood bakery-cafe. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure excellence in operations, team performance, and guest satisfaction while fostering a supportive and engaging work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager with key decisions and problem-solving
  • Plan and manage staffing needs and shift scheduling
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Manage team performance to meet operational and quality standards
  • Develop team members and create subject matter experts
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Maintain a healthy and safe workplace
  • Assist in controlling costs and managing inventory

Required skills

  • 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve)
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for up to 6 hours
  • Excellent communication skills
