Overview

The Assistant Equipment Mechanic at Desert Highlands Association assists the Equipment Manager with the repair and maintenance of motorized equipment. This role involves a variety of mechanical and maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of golf course equipment. Employees represent the club, contributing to an environment of exceptional service within a prestigious golf community.

Key responsibilities

  • Repair and adjust engines and cutting mechanisms of mowing equipment
  • Overhaul and repair automotive and other powered equipment
  • Secure and replace tools and parts, clean working areas after repairs
  • Assist in electric gas welding
  • Inspect equipment for operating deficiencies and make routine adjustments

Required skills

  • Knowledge of gasoline, diesel, and electric equipment operation
  • Understanding of proper methods for servicing golf course equipment
  • Familiarity with repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment
  • Mechanical dexterity and use of common mechanical tools
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Valid driver's license
