Job Description

Overview

Lycoming College is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Financial Aid to join their enrollment management team. This position involves providing comprehensive financial aid support to students and families, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial aid packages while collaborating closely with various stakeholders within the college community.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of financial aid policies and regulations
  • Provide financial aid counseling to students and parents through various communication channels
  • Assist in building financial aid packages for new and returning students
  • Evaluate financial aid appeals and act as a point of escalation for concerns
  • Help students accurately complete FAFSA applications
  • Coordinate written communications regarding financial aid to prospective and current students
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments to support student needs
  • Conduct verification of new student application data in compliance with federal requirements
  • Monitor individual student awards and resolve conflicts and over awards
  • Present financial aid information during new student orientations

Required skills

  • Associate's degree required, bachelor's preferred
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Products
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Teamwork and independent work abilities
  • Ability to relate to a diverse community
  • Valid US driver's license with a good driving record
