Job Description

Overview

Lycoming College is seeking a part-time Assistant Cross Country Coach to support the Head Coach in managing the NCAA Division III cross country program. This role involves recruiting student-athletes, conducting practices, and ensuring the academic success of team members while adhering to NCAA regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing and conducting practices and conditioning programs
  • Instruct student-athletes on cross country techniques and principles
  • Participate in fundraising through the Warrior Club program
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and uniforms
  • Promote the cross country team and the athletic program
  • Recruit qualified student-athletes in compliance with NCAA rules
  • Monitor the academic success of student-athletes

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Collegiate playing and coaching experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with video breakdown and analytics
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Driver's license with an approved driving record
