Job Description

Overview

The Assistant Controller will support the site Controller and Director of Operations by developing financial plans, forecasts, and analyzing operational results. This role offers an opportunity for finance professionals to grow within a dynamic manufacturing environment and contribute to the leadership team.

Key responsibilities

  • Support financial accountability for manufacturing operations
  • Assist in performing forecasts, profit and COGS analysis, cost management, and inventory control
  • Partner with the Controller and operations leadership to provide accurate financial insight
  • Help develop and maintain accounting procedures, policies, and reporting formats
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support waste elimination
  • Prepare reports to support business reviews and management presentations
  • Identify key levers for business improvement and support implementation
  • Control the capital appropriation process and post-project reviews
  • Monitor performance measures including quality, productivity, and profitability
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting and support Sarbanes-Oxley documentation
  • Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Translate complex financial information for non-finance stakeholders

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • 5-7 years of progressive financial experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency in MS Office and advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, or similar ERP/reporting systems
  • Cost accounting experience, including multi-level routing and bill of materials
