Overview

The Assistant Community Manager at Pratum Companies will assist the Community Manager in the operations of an affordable housing development in Silver Spring, MD. This role focuses on compliance, tenant relations, and financial procedures, ensuring adherence to policies and maintaining quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the affordable housing recertification process and ensure compliance
  • Maintain property waiting list and resident files
  • Build positive relationships with prospective and current tenants
  • Schedule resident recertification interviews and coordinate apartment inspections
  • Calculate income, assets, and rent levels accurately
  • Investigate and resolve tenant complaints and disturbances
  • Prepare and execute legally compliant lease agreements
  • Oversee financial procedures, including rent collections and payments
  • Create organizational systems for record keeping and financial transactions

Required skills

  • At least 2 years of property management experience
  • Previous experience with Yardi software
  • Experience with Section 8 recertification and compliance
  • Knowledge of HUD regulations
  • COS or TCS Certification preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneSite Property Management Software
  • Ability to read and write English fluently
