Job Description

Overview

Skidmore College is seeking an Assistant Coach for Women's Lacrosse within its Athletics, Fitness and Recreation Department. This full-time, 10-month position is an excellent opportunity for an individual eager to contribute to a competitive NCAA Division III program while gaining valuable coaching and administrative experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with daily practices, training sessions, and game preparation
  • Coach and mentor student-athletes in a competitive environment
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes aligned with college values and standards
  • Scout opponents and contribute to game strategy
  • Manage film exchange and game film breakdown
  • Oversee the team's social media presence and content creation
  • Support team operations including equipment room responsibilities and home game management
  • Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with various stakeholders

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Collegiate lacrosse playing experience
  • Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills
  • Commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes
  • Current CPR and AED certification or ability to obtain
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Collegiate coaching experience (preferred)
  • Familiarity with video editing software and social media platforms
