Job Description

Overview

The Assembler at Metalcraft of Mayville is responsible for producing components by assembling parts and subassemblies for OEM and SCAG products. Working primarily in the early morning hours, this role also supports various areas of the shop floor throughout the shift.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions and blueprints
  • Position parts and subassemblies using templates
  • Assemble components by fastening parts and subassemblies
  • Verify specifications and resolve assembly problems
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment
  • Maintain supplies inventory and document actions
  • Contribute to team efforts and ensure compliance with safety standards

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team
  • Detail orientation and self-motivation skills
  • Good finger and hand dexterity
  • Basic knowledge in blueprint reading and torque values
  • Experience in a technical environment
  • Basic math skills
  • Experience with light electrical assembly and/or heavy equipment assembly
  • Forklift experience
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing environment
