Overview

The Assembler (West Bend) position at Metalcraft of Mayville involves producing components by assembling parts and subassemblies for OEM and SCAG products. This role primarily supports assembly operations during the first shift and contributes to other areas of the shop floor as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare for assembly by studying instructions, blueprints, and parts lists
  • Position and assemble parts and subassemblies using templates or measurements
  • Verify specifications and resolve assembly problems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Manage inventory of supplies and place orders as needed
  • Document production and quality actions
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team and coordinate with other departments
  • Detail-oriented with self-motivation and multitasking ability
  • Good finger and hand dexterity
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and torque values
  • Previous experience in a technical environment, light electrical assembly, or heavy equipment assembly
  • Forklift experience
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong basic math skills
