Overview

The Asphalt Plant Operator at Peckham Industries is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and maintenance of asphalt production equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient production of high-quality hot mix asphalt that meets customer specifications and safety standards, while also collaborating with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor hot mix asphalt plant and equipment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Adjust plant controls and production processes to meet quality specifications.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and operational issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and support equipment repairs.
  • Collaborate with quality control personnel, truck drivers, and maintenance teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and compliance.
  • Identify and address potential safety, environmental, and operational risks.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance plant efficiency and product quality.

Required skills

  • Asphalt plant production experience
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Communication skills in verbal and written English
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Welding experience is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.
