Overview

The ASME Welder position at Calgon Carbon in Pittsburgh, PA involves high-skill welding on pressure vessels and piping systems. This role provides an opportunity to work on challenging and code-quality welds critical to air and water purification solutions globally.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform ASME code welding on pressure vessels, piping, and structural components
  • Weld using FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW
  • Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and weld procedures
  • Complete ASME weld logs and quality documentation
  • Pass non-destructive testing (NDT) for pressure-retaining welds
  • Inspect and repair welds to meet code and quality standards

Required skills

  • 2+ years of experience welding pressure vessels or pipe (FCAW required)
  • High school diploma or trade school certification (welding preferred)
  • Ability to pass on-site weld qualification testing
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and documentation
