American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter School Year PositionJoin the team at Care Options for KidsWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in accessing their full academic and social potential. In this role, you'll facilitate communication, promote language access, and ensure students can fully participate in the general education curriculum.What You'll DoProvide direct interpreting services in:Classroom instruction across academic subjectsSmall group and one-on-one settingsSchool activities, meetings, and eventsInterpret using:American Sign Language (ASL)Signed Exact English (SEE) or other communication modalities (based on student needs)Facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staffSupport students in accessing classroom instruction, discussions, andCollaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), and familiesParticipate in IEP meetings and support communication access in compliance with Individuals with Disabilities Education ActRequirementsHigh school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interpreting or related field preferredMust meet South Carolina requirements for educational interpreters, including:National certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) ORMinimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)Passing score on the EIPA Written Test (EIPA:WT)Compensation & Benefits$48-$50 per hourMedical, Dental & Vision (Cigna)Life, LTD & STD insurance401(k) eligibilityPaid Time Off (PTO)Continuing Education Units (CEUs)Referral bonus programProfessional development assistanceAccess to an online community of professionalsAccepting Applications through July 31, 2026Care Options for Kids is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
