Overview

The Art Teacher at The Paideia Academies Inc. will be responsible for promoting education in the visual arts for mid and high school students in Phoenix, Arizona. This role involves developing and implementing art curriculum that aligns with state standards, providing diverse learning experiences, and fostering an environment conducive to creativity and learning.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and implement visual arts instruction aligned with State Visual Arts Standards.
  • Provide differentiated learning experiences for students with varying skill levels.
  • Coordinate visual arts instruction with other teachers and assist in integrating visual arts into the broader curriculum.
  • Organize and supervise community celebrations and events to showcase student work.
  • Maintain inventory and manage ordering of art supplies and equipment.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for students with academic or behavioral difficulties.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and a safe educational environment.
  • Keep parents informed about student performance and development.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in subject area
  • Certification/SEI Endorsement
  • Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Experience teaching diverse students in Visual Arts
  • Knowledge of Arizona state standards for Visual Arts
  • Outstanding instructional skills and classroom management
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability
