Overview

The Armed Security Officer at CHRISTUS Health in Sulphur Springs is responsible for providing security to patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring the safety of the hospital premises. This role requires a uniformed presence to deter criminal activity, respond to emergencies, and conduct patrols and investigations as needed. Flexibility in hours and the ability to work at multiple facilities is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct frequent security patrols of the facilities and grounds.
  • Respond to all emergency codes and internal/external disaster events.
  • Prepare incident reports using proper grammar and submit them promptly.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of CHRISTUS Health and state laws.
  • Assist staff with combative patients or visitors.
  • Control facility parking and issue citations as necessary.
  • Report safety hazards observed during security rounds.
  • Demonstrate competence with security equipment and protocols.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • Two years of armed security experience or equivalent military service.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Verbal de-escalation training.
  • BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Proficiency in operating security systems and writing reports.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Active Level 3 Commission with Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau.
  • Ability to manage personal stress and handle aggressive behaviors.
