Job Description: Job Description Architect & Design (A+D) Representative - Commercial Architectural Products The Opportunity Woodwright is seeking an experienced Architect & Design (A+D) Sales Representative to manage and grow an established commercial territory centered in Dallas-Fort Worth, with additional opportunities throughout Texas. This is a relationship-driven position built around early project engagement with architects, interior designers, and contractors. Success comes from developing specifications, managing opportunities through lengthy project cycles, and becoming a trusted resource to the design and construction community. Unlike many building-material companies, Woodwright is a Dallas-based manufacturer of custom architectural wood products. Because we design and manufacture to order, our team offers architects and designers exceptional flexibility, technical expertise, and sustainable solutions for complex commercial projects. About Woodwright Woodwright manufactures premium architectural wood surfaces, including custom wood flooring, stair systems, wall applications, and decorative wood elements. Our products are specified by leading architects and designers for commercial environments including corporate offices, hospitality, higher education, museums, and other distinctive spaces. We are committed to craftsmanship, technical excellence, and a consultative approach to serving our customers. Key Responsibilities • Develop and deepen relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors, and key commercial accounts. • Identify, prioritize, and cultivate relationships with leading architectural and design firms. • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle. • Generate product specifications and drive both material-only and turnkey opportunities. • Manage and grow territory revenue while achieving defined sales and margin goals. • Deliver product presentations, lunch-and-learns, and continuing education (CEU) programs. • Collaborate closely with estimating, operations, and production teams to support pricing, lead times, and project execution. • Track project opportunities and customer activity using CRM tools. • Maintain accurate records of specifications, timelines, and decision makers. • Represent Woodwright at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions. • Ensure key accounts are supported with current samples and technical resources. • Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding wood flooring, stair systems, wall applications, sustainability, and manufacturing capabilities. Qualifications • Two or more years of experience in sales, business development, account management, specification sales, or related customer-facing roles. • Experience within commercial construction, architectural products, flooring, millwork, interior finishes, furniture, building materials, or related industries is preferred. • Understanding of commercial construction processes and project lifecycles. • Experience managing key accounts and long sales cycles. • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills. • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously. • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office. • Self-motivated with strong time and territory management skills. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. What Success Looks Like • Developing strong relationships with leading A&D firms and contractors. • Creating specifications that convert into profitable revenue. • Maintaining a healthy project pipeline across all phases of the commercial construction process. • Providing exceptional responsiveness and technical support to customers. • Working effectively with estimating, operations, and production teams to deliver outstanding results.
