Overview

As an Applied Researcher II at Capital One, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative AI solutions that enhance customer interactions with banking services. Joining the AI Foundations team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional experts to transform cutting-edge research into actionable products, leveraging a rich stack of technologies to unearth insights from complex data.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Build AI foundation models through design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
  • Engage in high-impact applied research to enhance customer experiences.
  • Translate complex AI concepts into tangible business goals.

Required skills

  • PhD or MS in relevant fields with experience in Applied Research
  • Hands-on experience in developing AI foundation models
  • Proficiency in technologies such as Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface
  • Experience with deep learning models and machine learning methodologies
  • Familiarity with NLP and large language models
  • Ability to conduct independent research and manage long-running projects
