Overview

As an Applied Researcher II in AI Foundations at Capital One, you will play a key role in developing reliable AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build AI-powered products, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies to analyze and interpret vast amounts of data, while ensuring the application of cutting-edge AI advancements to improve customer interactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Utilize a variety of technologies to analyze large volumes of numeric and textual data.
  • Build AI foundation models through all development phases including design, training, and implementation.
  • Conduct applied research to integrate the latest AI advancements into product experiences.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into actionable business objectives.

Required skills

  • PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience in developing AI foundation models using open-source tools and cloud computing.
  • Deep understanding of AI methodologies and experience with large deep learning models.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with frameworks such as Pytorch.
  • Experience optimizing models and deploying large language models.
