Overview

As an Applied Researcher II at Capital One, you will be instrumental in creating reliable AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. Joining the AI Foundations team, you will partner with experts from various fields to develop AI-powered products, leveraging advanced technologies and engaging in impactful applied research to redefine customer interactions with their finances.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
  • Leverage technologies like Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface for data insights
  • Build AI foundation models through all phases of development
  • Engage in applied research to enhance customer experience with AI
  • Translate complex research outcomes into tangible business goals

Required skills

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics or related fields
  • Experience in Applied Research
  • Hands-on experience with AI foundation models and cloud computing
  • Understanding of AI methodologies and deep learning models
  • Experience in delivering libraries or solution level code for existing products
  • Knowledge of training optimization, self-supervised learning, and model robustness
