As an Applied Researcher II at Capital One, you will be at the forefront of creating trustworthy AI systems that revolutionize customer interactions with banking. The role involves collaborating with a diverse team to leverage advanced machine learning technologies, contribute to applied research, and develop AI-powered products that significantly enhance customer experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Leverage technologies such as Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface in AI model development.
  • Build AI foundation models through all phases from design to implementation.
  • Engage in high impact applied research to innovate customer experiences.
  • Translate complex technical work into tangible business goals.

Required skills

  • Experience in applied research with a focus on AI and machine learning.
  • Proven ability to develop AI foundation models using open-source tools.
  • Expertise in deep learning, NLP, and model optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS.
