Overview

Capital One is seeking an Applied Researcher I to contribute to the development of AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. The role is part of the AI Foundations team, which focuses on implementing cutting-edge AI technologies and collaborating with various stakeholders to deploy AI-powered products.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
  • Leverage technologies such as Pytorch, AWS, and Huggingface for data analysis
  • Build AI foundation models through all development phases
  • Engage in applied research to improve customer experiences
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business goals

Required skills

  • PhD or M.S. in a relevant field (Computer Science, AI, etc.)
  • Experience with machine learning and AI model development
  • Hands-on skills with open-source tools and cloud computing platforms
  • Knowledge of training optimization, self-supervised learning, and explainability
  • Experience delivering models at scale and working with deep learning algorithms
