Overview

As an Applied Researcher I at Capital One, you will contribute to the development of trustworthy AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. You will collaborate with a diverse team to create AI-powered products and utilize a variety of technologies to extract insights from large datasets, helping to redefine how Capital One serves its customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
  • Utilize technologies like Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface to analyze data
  • Develop AI foundation models through the entire development lifecycle
  • Engage in applied research to implement next-generation customer experience solutions
  • Translate complex technical work into business objectives

Required skills

  • PhD or M.S. in relevant fields such as Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in applied research in AI and machine learning
  • Proficiency in developing AI foundation models and solutions with open-source tools
  • Deep understanding of AI methodologies and deep learning algorithms
  • Experience with NLP and large language model training and optimization
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms
