Overview

As an Applied Researcher I at Capital One, you will join a team focused on developing trustworthy and reliable AI systems to enhance banking experiences for customers. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create AI-powered products and conducting high-impact applied research within the AI Foundations team.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers.
  • Build AI foundation models across all development phases.
  • Engage in applied research to advance customer experiences with AI.
  • Utilize various technologies including Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface.

Required skills

  • PhD or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience with AI foundation models and open-source tools.
  • Deep understanding of AI methodologies and large deep learning models.
  • Experience with training optimization, self-supervised learning, explainability, and robustness.
