Overview

As an Applied Researcher I at Capital One, you will play a crucial role in leveraging advanced AI technologies to enhance customer interactions in banking. You will work with a collaborative team to develop AI-powered products and solutions that reflect the company's commitment to innovation and customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Leverage technologies such as Pytorch, AWS, Huggingface, and VectorDBs to analyze large datasets.
  • Build AI foundation models through design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
  • Conduct applied research to integrate cutting-edge AI developments into customer experiences.
  • Translate complex technical work into actionable business goals.

Required skills

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics or related fields; or M.S. with 2
  • Experience in applied research and developing AI foundation models.
  • Hands-on experience with open-source tools and cloud computing platforms.
  • Deep understanding of AI methodologies and large deep learning models.
  • Experience in training optimization, self-supervised learning, and robustness.
