Overview

Applied Materials is seeking a Field Service Engineer as part of their Applied Early Career Program. This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment in collaboration with customers. New graduates will receive structured training and mentorship while working hands-on with cutting-edge technology, positioning them for a successful career in the semiconductor industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment
  • Use digital analytics and tools to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various systems
  • Communicate directly with customers in a professional manner
  • Follow safety, quality, and process guidelines in customer environments
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as you grow in the role

Required skills

  • Associate degree or recent college graduate in engineering technology or related field
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in technical systems
  • Willingness to learn electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Ability to diagnose and solve basic technical problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
