Job Description

Overview

Daniel Defense is seeking an Applications Engineer 2 to contribute to the engineering and manufacturing of premium weapon systems and accessories. This role focuses on integrating machinery into manufacturing processes, CNC programming, and ensuring production goals are met through various engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead adherence to environmental health and safety policies
  • Plan and coordinate machinery integration into manufacturing processes
  • Write and edit CNC machine operating programs using CAM software
  • Design work holding solutions using SolidWorks CAD software
  • Participate in part design reviews and suggest improvements
  • Determine necessary parts, equipment, tools, and processes for manufacturing
  • Program and troubleshoot CNC machines, including running them as needed
  • Conduct capability studies for machined components
  • Operate manual tool room equipment and CNC mills, lathes, and grinders
  • Research and recommend manufacturing equipment needs
  • Aid in design and development of production equipment and systems
  • Mentor and train engineers and machinists in programming and fabrication
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in safety and productivity

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2-4 years of experience in CNC machining and programming
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, MasterCAM, Esprit, and CAM software
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of effective communication with various stakeholders
  • Understanding of safety protocols and ability to work in a manufacturing environment
